It seems whenever I need a reminder of our responsibility to all of the children of God in this world, Katie Davis shows up. Katie is a young woman who founded the Amazima ministries. She gave up her material belonging, friendships and closeness of family to move to Uganda to start a sponsorship program to send children to school. In doing so, she has became the mother to 14 young girls, but unfortunately only 13 of them are with her today.
Below are two videos that show Katie providing a face and story to the staggering statistics that make up so much of the world's underprivileged youth. They are long, but even taking in a few minutes will prove to be a reminder of something greater that remains for all of us, and the potential of one person (you?) that can make a difference.
