Never a dull moment

We had a fun yet busy week. Maya got a new fall outfit and had to immediately put each piece on. She is starting to love to play dress up.

Also in the week we met up with our adoption group at a local park. All the kids had a great time and the parents had fun visiting. We also got to meet Miss Anna who recently came home. Wow does she have an amazing strong personality. She seems to fit in just fine.

Maya had fun playing on all the different playground equipment.

We biked over to the park and Maya loved it.

Sundae

Maya made a beautiful sundae at school. We just love all her art projects. It is nice to know Maya is able to be creative. Here Maya shows off her red, white, and blue sundae.

The Other Day

Maya had fun playing dress up in her bedroom.  She found her snowman pajamas and proceeded to put them on.  To our amazement, she managed to get on the top and pants.  Now of course the top was on backwards and on top of the shirt she already had on and the pants were inside out but that's okay, right?  I was not only surprised to see she got them on all by herself but that they actually still fit.  I actually thought they were too small!  We had a great laugh and as always took some pictures.
 
 

Kid's Poster

At the EKC Mehaber, we purchased this fabulous poster from Abshiro Kids. This is an Ethiopian Alphabet poster that shows the picture and the word in both English and Amharic.

Today we had it laminated and hung it in the family room so we can enjoy it each and every day. I just hope we can pronounce the Amharic words correctly.

Baseball

We hit our first Redhawk's game this season compliments of my work. We had great seats and Maya did great! She enjoyed some cookies, popcorn, and a sucker. Does that make us bad parents or smart ones? Smile.

Maya got her hair professionally braided a little over a week ago in a beautiful new style - my inspiration was a little girl from the EKC Mehaber event in June. I was that mom who asked another mom if I could take a picture of her kid's hair. Here is my inspiration:

Well I needed a week off from Maya's hair and therefore Ruthie braided it at a local salon. She was quick and only took around 45 minutes!

Here is the end result - pretty cute!

And now it must come to an end...

At least Maya is smiling! Only took me around 30 minutes to take out. Now I am off to find my next style :)

New PJ's

Grandma Linda gave Maya a new pair of pajamas. Maya of course LOVES them. Any idea why?

You guessed it - Dora! Maya was so excited to wear them tonight for bed that she actually undressed all by herself (and then got a little help from mommy on putting on the pj's). Thanks Grandma Linda!
