Who says 2 1/2 year olds don't have homework?

Just kidding!  Maya kept busy by drawing in her book.  She loved to draw all over the page and then wipe it off (dry erase marker).  Doesn't she look like she is doing homework?

Pictures

We took family pictures the other day in downtown Fargo and at Island Park.  We haven't seen them yet but did get a sneak peak at 3 of them.  They turned out so well and I'm so excited to see the rest of them.  I just hope we have a great family picture as I know there will be plenty of good pictures of Maya!

I'm a big girl because...

  • I wear big girl under pants.
  • I take off and put on my own clothes - who cares if they are inside out or backwards.
  • I can let the puppies in and out even when mommy and daddy don't want me to.
  • I can ride my big girl bike (with training wheels) anywhere and everywhere.
  • I can watch my shows over and over again as I know how to hit "play" on the DVR - mommy and daddy especially like this one :)

      Dress up!

Maya has been doing such a great job on the potty training that we decided to give her a present.  This gift is a trunk full of dress up clothes which we held on to from last Christmas (can't pass up a good bargain).  Maya is starting to really get into dressing up and absolutely loved all the new clothes and accessories.  It was hard to get the dress off of her so we could make it to gymnastics this morning!

Here she is smiling for the camera - I love the orange shirt she  has on with the dress :)

      Labor Day Weekend

What a gorgeous weekend we had at the lake.  It was a great farewell to what we called "summer".  On Monday we packed up the camper and said good-bye to our lake friends.  We also watched 3 campers pull out of the campground who have been there for around 25 years.  Sad to see them leave but hopefully it means younger families moving in with small children.  I have been thinking about what is going to fill the lake void.  With no surprise, our fall calendar is full of activities such as gymnastics, NDSU football games, and our adoption support group activities.  It should be a great fall!

Here is some photos of our wonderful weekend.  Maya really loves the lake and even met a new friend!

      Last Couple of Weeks

If you have read our last couple of blog posts, you know that we recently celebrated Maya's 2 year forever home anniversary. Although we didn't have a grand party like last year, we did celebrate as a family. We visited Maya's favorite place, the zoo. We had a wonderful time visiting the animals, feeding the goats, and riding the carousal. Happy 2 year Forever Home Anniversary Maya. We love you!!!

In the last week or so, we had the pleasure to have lunch with a family who recently adopted a daughter from Ethiopia. They were only in town for the day so we were lucky to get to see them. What a beautiful daughter they have!

Silly Maya put on a show last night and just giggled and giggled at the dinner table. Honestly I don't even know what was so funny. She cracks me up though and I am convinced we will be getting a call from the school principle once she starts school. She is for sure going to be one of the class clowns.
